13th Piano Party Recap

RecapThe party was held January 30 with thirty music lovers in attendance at the lovely home of Jim and Pam Bradley. Sadly, I70 weather turned back one of our performers coming up from the Front Range. But, the snow held long enough for those that attended to get home safely.
We had 10 pianists who beautifully played the following:
1. Jim Bradley: Chopin Waltz in Eb minor
2. Piper Salazar: Traditional Tailor's Song
3. Bob Salazar: To a Wild Rose by McDowell
4. Kim Ruhland and Stan Wagon: It Ain't Necessarily So by G. Gershwin
5. Peggy Neville: Op 14 2nd Movement in E Minor, by Beethoven; Claudin Blues by Len Rhodes
6. Francine Vriesendorp: Ouro Sobre Azul and Odeon by Ernesto Nazareth
7. Melanie Lowrey and Kim Ruhland: Fantasia on Papageno (The Magic Flute) by Greg Anderson
8. Violeta Powell: Sonata #12, K332 by Mozart
9. Ian Runge: New York/New York (made famous by Frank Sinantra)
10. Jake Lidard: Prelude in G minor by Rachmaninoff
The ever popular and infamous Herr Professor Doktor Herman Hinnerschnitzel dropped all of his engagements to join our group. He gave his unique ballet interpretive dance of Papageno, the Royal Bird Catcher while Melanie and Kim played a rather acrobatic Fantasia on the Arias of Papageno. Word has it that the Professor couldn't miss the opportunity to perform something from the Magic Flute on Mozart's 260th birthday.
It was a performance not to be missed!
We look forward to the 14th Piano Party coming late March at the home of Stan Wagon and Joan Hutchinson. More to come soon on that.
The 2 piano party will now be held in July with the hopes of inviting NRO musicians.
musically,
Kim Ruhland & Pam Bradley
